This application allows us to view nutritional information about fastfood restaurant menus.
Would you like to know how many calories McDonald’s french fries has?
We can also track what we have eaten by recording it.
We’ll see a comprehensive summary of our diet for that day as well.
By activating the diet option, we can also track calorie, carbohydrate, protein & fat & compare it against our diet goal. Keeping track of our progress.
We can also have multiple users for this program, meaning we can create profiles for each of our family members in this application.
And also, one feature that I love is for us to be able to find the nearest branch of our favorite fastfood restaurant. We just click on the map and it will automatically connect us to Google map

Restaurant nutrition just made me be conscious on what we eat in the restaurants. I now always have 2nd thoughts when I plan to order 2 large fries from McDonald’s heheheh
And it’s also good to note that we can quantify the nutrients that we have taken through the food that we eat. Might be good to also have a program that has this kind of information on all kinds of food and not just fast food restaurants hehehe.
Restaurant Nutrition is created by Foundation HealthCare Network (FHCN) & available at iTunes AppStore for free.

I was lucky to be able to get this while it was free for a limited time. It’s now back to its original price of $4.99

Meal Diary is a very simple tool to help us track and control how much we eat.
The style is way different from the meal trackers out there.
Here is how we do it:
- select the type of meal
- select the size of your meal
- select date & time
- click save

As much as I want to know my calorie intake, I really don’t have the time to track each & every food that I eat. Anyhow, we really have a certain habit or pattern on eating. I love this application due to that reason, it lets us see if we are eating more or less than what we have been eating. With that information, it helps us stay under control. And it only takes like 5 minutes of our time every day.
Meal Diary is created by minimalistech software & available at iTunes AppStore for $1.99 (currently free!).
Eyephone is an application that can benefit opthalmologists, practitioners &students.
I’m not a graduate of opthalmology but it’s always nice to have those kind of usual tests in our iPhone. I got it for free anyway (it was free last month), it’s now priced at $4.99 though.
This application has the ff. tests:
- Near Visual Acuity – this was developed using a Jaegger based table, corrected for the size of the Iphone screen. Going from J8 to J1. There are two tests available, one with “E”s and another one with numbers. To change the tests just flip the image with your finger.
- Distance E – this is probably the most common eye test. the size of the “E” is at 20/20 at 20 feet. We can estimate vision acuity by decreasing the distance of the iphone, for example at 10 feet is 20/40, 5 feet is 20/80.
- Fixating – the image in the middle is the target. Many fixating tests can be done with this option, such as cover-uncover test, indirect cover test, prolonged cover test, etc.
- Flashlight – this is just a clean white screen.
- Color Test (Ishihara) – the information button can help you interpret the result of the test.
- Amsler Grid – It is a diagnostic tool that aids in the detection of visual disturbances caused by changes in the retina, particularly the macula (e.g. macular degeneration, Epiretinal membrane), as well as the optic nerve and the visual pathway to the brain.
- Pupil Gauge – can be used to measure the Pupil Gauge.
This application kinda advertises Dr. Renato Neves who created this. The application opens up with his picture… I just hope he just put his information only in the about menu and not put all over.. it’s kinda distracting

Eyephone is created by Renato A. Neves, MD & available at iTunes AppStore for $4.99.
